The IPhone

I want one.

LotusSphere from the Outside

So, I just got back from Orlando, where I attended my first LotusSphere since 1999 when I left Iris. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Lots of talks, lots of labs, lots of parties...

It really didn't feel all that different. I still drank way too much, made a fool out of myself at JellyRolls and didn't get anywhere near enough sleep, just like I used to...

It was great to hook up with a bunch of old buddies and get a chance to make some new ones. It was sort of like going to your high-school reunion. Some people look exactly like they did 10 years ago, some have aged gracefully and some of us have aged ummm...less gracefully :-)

As an old Notes client jockey, it was gratifying to see so much attention paid to the client and the end user experience. I hope to write up my impressions on the technical side of what I saw, in a future post, but as a loyal employee of a partner/competitor, I never know what is ok to say.

All in all, it was exciting and I feel pretty enthusiastic about the future of Lotus software.

Stay tuned for more...

Old, and getting Older

So I received a disturbing mail this past week, from the AARP.

Apparently I am eligible to join. Actually, the letter said I have been eligible to join the AARP for some time now, but have yet to take advantage...

How is that possible?

I don't even know what I want to be when I grow up!

Maybe I don't have the same fire I had when I was 25, but I am not ready to retire yet.

Software I have written has yet to change the world, though it has been noticed

AARP, SCHMAARP. I have yet much to accomplish before I retire!
